Keep it Classy, Keep it Mid length!

I often struggle with my thoughts about my own life, my own choices and my passion. TBH, I have no clue about what my calling in life is- as in what I am supposed to do with my mind, how am I supposed to apply it and in what direction! And this struggle has made me so chaotic in the head that I am clueless as to where am I headed! I like fashion, but what aspect of fashion, not sure! I like writing as well, speaking as well……but all this does not define my passion. Maybe I am not supposed to have a passion, maybe I am one of those floating kinds, who just don’t get rooted at a spot and probably carry on drifting…..do you guys feel the same?

Well that was about my state of mind, now to my state of fashion! lol
Soon we shall be entering the wintry phase of our lives, but before that lemme put across a few posts which could not make it to the blog, earlier. My unending love affair with all things summer, with a dash of autumn!
Words of the wise-first!

So here we are polka doting our way into this post!

This gorgeous midi dress has been a favourite as far as I can remember!Has a belt to tie at the back and give the body an hour glass shape! Paired it with burgundy heels in the spirit of autumn fashion and the regality of style is for everyone to see!

Also since the over all look becomes empowering, keep it easy on the make up! I am a big champion of natural looking skin with fresh eyes and lips! Accessorised with bare minimum- just a pair of golden hoops!

So did you like it? This dress is one of my favourite ones, simply because it looks great, feels great and is timeless!! Write back to me your take on it!

Until next time,
love n light!

How to Dress Corporate like a Boss!

Hello my sweet people!! This is the longest I’ve been without writing to you all, I guess and trust me I missed writing! So here I am… Back with a fresh idea to sort you out with your dressing woes!

Well, this time happens to be a special case of dressing up for your job! I know,we absolutely cannot generalize dressin-up for work, but trust me there is one foolproof way to dress up for every job ad you just cannot go wrong at it!

So it is a black n white case, but with a dash of exuberance, which will just put the whole idea of dressing up in place……let me show you how!

Who says Black and White has to be boring, specially when you have a lovely, volume sleeves polka dots shirt from H&M at your disposal, shoo-ing off boring, basic white shirts! A sweet little bow detail around the neck makes it even more endearing! Well, a black basic pant can go along with all the party on ‘top’!

What brings absolute sheen to this whole outfit is a pair of muted gold pumps and lovely bright lip colour!Adding bright choices in accessories and make up is the best way to fuel some life into a boring outfit….. and it doesn’t even appear OTT, cuz its done right!

I hope you liked this cute little way of dressing up for work! Let me know in the comments below, what your idea of ‘basic-office-wear-with-a-dash-of-extra’ and then we can all exchange notes!!!

Until next time,

Love n Light!

The EverGreen Sweater-Jeans Combination for Winters

A smart fitting sweater and jeans combination can literally soar up your style quotient any time of the day in Winters. And bonus for picking up a lovely bright colour!  I know for some people it is out-rightly hard to dress up fancy in winters, given that the comfort level goes a bit snazzy because of all the cold, but even a simple sweater-jeans look can work wonders if done right.

Now there are a few cardinal rules of putting together a sweater- jeans look, not different from other rules of fitting. If you plan on wearing a loose, baggy sweater- for the love of style sense pair it up with skinny jeans or jeggings! Baggy does not get along with another baggy! Whereas If you plan on wearing a well fitted sweater, you have the absolute authority to pair it up with skinny jeans, jeggings and bottom flared trousers or even palazzos! There you go….. You know the trick, right!

So without further ado, let me show you the neat trick of doing sweaters and jeans together….

A bright red sweater from Dorothy Perkins and a washed out blue jeans with pearl embellishment gave me the ultimate winter fashion goals. The Contrast Colours bring out the best in each other and give an over-all vibrancy to the entire look.

You can go easy on the accessories and maybe experiment by topping the look with a Trilby hat and baby pink pumps(which BTW are a steal from Zara). I think the purple Forever 21 trilby looks absolutely sensational for a brunch/lunch date!

Hoping you’ll take pointers from the look and go on to slay the sweater-jeans look!

Until Next Time,

The Perfect Skirt-Sweater Winter Look!

Hello my gorgeous readers and a HAPPY, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

2018 It is and we are already 3 days into a brand new chapter of our lives! Whoa….

How great does this new year look with ultra new dreams and hopes and resolutions! Personally, I am not a resolution kinda person, I believe in taking one day at a time. Planning actually doesn’t work for me so I stick to disappointing myself minimally! But I do dream… and a lot at that… to the point of day dreaming even…..I mean we’re allowed that, isn’t it?! So here’s to a wonderful new chapter in our lives and us making the most of it!

So coming back to the central idea of this post, Skirts and Sweaters! Together! Skirts in winters are Sexy AF!

Mini BOMBS!

Aztec Print is a versatile print to work with especially in winters, to brighten up dull days. This Topshop skirt is a super cute one and can be paired with any bright colour!

Red Haute

Red is custom made for winters, trust me! Since my skirt already had a bit of red in it, I decided to go full bloom with a plain red Dorothy Perkins sweater. A bit of black stockings for the sexy winter idea and brown brogues for polishing it off!!

Hope you enjoyed this look! Tell me what is your idea of sweaters and skirts in winters! Have a happy and bright new year ahead!

Tangerine is the NEW Black!

Helllooo my beautiful readers!! How are you all? Full of love and zest, I hope!

I have always, always believed that style is a personal force of habit. Emulating the trends blindly is NEVER a good idea. So, that leaves us with the empowring choice of spinning our own personal flavour to whatever is handed down to us in terms of trends.  I mean you are not everybody- You are YOU and that is your biggest strength! Why not use it to set an individualistic style statement, which is unique and personal at the same time!!

Talking about fashion choices, a lot of people comment that MIDI dresses only suit tall girls. Well, I am not a tall girl, neither a short one- I am the in-between kinds. Average height-ed. And I personally feel it is totally unfair to reserve MIDI dresses only for tall girls, when they look just fine on my stature! Just to prove the point, I decided to show you how MIDIS can work for girls my height!( BTW I am around 5’3”)

Speaking about the star of this post, the MIDI dress featured here is a gorgeous tangerine number from DORTHY PERKINS, which I sourced from an online portal called JABONG. Pro tip:Pairing tangerine/orange with gold is a rock solid idea, hence the muted gold pumps from ZARA!

Come, have a look……

That GO-TO BLUE Number!

Hey you all amazing people! The weather in this part of the Northern Hemisphere is slowly beginning to show the Autumn Colours! (Fall for my friends in the US) The rich delicacy of the Autumn winds is brewing with full gusto, and yet we are caught right in the middle. You know, when its summers in the mornings and (almost) winters in the evenings! Talk about beautiful contradictions!

Well the weather aside, I am going to be talking about this beautiful Cobalt Blue Dress that I happened to purchase online a couple of years backs, yet it still freshens my looks, no matter how many times I wear it! A lovely DOROTHY PERKINS made, this calf length dress is a perfect fit, with a beautiful neckline. Its a great option for a business meeting, brunch date or evening drinks and the colour is absolutely flattering!

So as always, let me take you through the look one by one…….. Come on in….

How to Ace Prints together!

Most of us like to take it easy when pairing two prints together. I know the idea of putting together two different prints sounds chaotic and overbearing, but it necessarily doesn’t have to be so! Print on Print is such a versatile way of dressing up- I mean you can show off two of your favourite prints in one go… ( if that isn’t incredible, I don’t know what is!)

So to give you all a fair idea for starters, I have decided to address this issue head on. One doesn’t need to be as scared of prints you know! There are certain looks which look great when done together. For instance Polkas and Stripes look lovely together and so do Florals and Polkas. For that matter even Stripes and Polkas work very well together!

For this post I went with something slightly different yet basic! See for yourself….

Checks and Stripes

Pairing checks and stripes is the most non-fussy way to wear print on print. Also it goes a long way to say that this combination is a classic. Since my pairing was grounded in a dark zone, I decided to brighten the look with Burgundy Pumps from FOREVER 21 and a mysteriously vibed burgundy lippy!
