The Subtle Art of Layerin’

Hello my beautiful readers! Enjoying your days in the warm winter sun?! Meanwhile I have been busy dressing up for the wedding season, which BTW is on its peak in this side of the country. I know I should be writing about that too…well later, maybe?

So winters is mostly about layering, right?!  I mean you’ve got truckloads of warm vests, sweaters, cardigans, sweatshirts and jackets and scarfs and you still feel cold! But nevertheless you pile on in hope of that one snuggly feeling, down there hidden beneath those multiple layers and still want to look like a million bucks?! Fret not, layering isn’t rocket science- it’s a beautiful art of bringing together independent pieces from your wardrobe and make it work like a team! More like a Mood Board of sorts!

My post today is not an entirely winter-esque idea, its more of an Autumn-leading-to-winter-mornings-kinda sensibility. I have this lovely, lovely multi-coloured long, front buttoned shrug(can also be used as Maxi dress on occasions.. YAYYY!!) which I probably bought from an online store in China, on a whim! So this shrug turned out to be just the right idea for a layering post. Keeping the rest of my look simple, singular coloured, I’ll show you how I worked around with this shrug. Of course, I threw in a bit of colour through my shoes, like always, cuz why not!

So come one, lets have a look at what I have for you guys……..

Hope you guys enjoyed this look! Let me know how you liked it through your comments!

Un till next time…..

love and luck!

Ethnic Meets Contemporary!

Hello My beautiful readers!  As Ned Stark( GAME OF THRONES FANDOM PLS!!)  religiously proclaimed ” WINTER IS COMING”, the woes of winter are finally upon us!!

Personally, I hate winters- I am a total, total summer/spring person. I am most uncomfortable with the layering part of winters, where no matter how much one piles on, you still end up shivering-so, basically what is the point, right?! Plus the weather is soul-crushingly grey, with perpetual longings for sunshine and warmth dictating my moods! You get the drift!

As it is I am a dreamer at heart, so every year when the winter sets in, I carry a bit of summer in my heart to keep me warm! Well, that’s me… So basically today’s post is going to be a gentle reminder of the lovely summers that are yet to come in our lives! So if you are an eternal, hopeless dreamer like me….read on!

There is something utterly delightful about being experimentative with traditional/ethnic wear. It brings a lot of character and novelty to the experience of dressing up, on the whole! The star of this post is a beautiful two piece garment, with a solid red maxi styled dress/inner and a printed jacket. Together, they spell magic. The fabric is spun cotton, super light and comfy and(trust me) the outfit flatters any body type!  The amazing part is, it can be styled anyways- modern meets traditional sense, uber contemporary or even in a delicately ethnical style! * Hello Super Versatile*

Rather than writing about how I styled this lovely outfit, I will show you…..(even better)

Keep scrolling folks!

I loved doing this boho traditional with a twist look! I hope you guys enjoyed it too! Let me know in the comments below, how you liked it!

love & hugs

Tangerine is the NEW Black!

Helllooo my beautiful readers!! How are you all? Full of love and zest, I hope!

I have always, always believed that style is a personal force of habit. Emulating the trends blindly is NEVER a good idea. So, that leaves us with the empowring choice of spinning our own personal flavour to whatever is handed down to us in terms of trends.  I mean you are not everybody- You are YOU and that is your biggest strength! Why not use it to set an individualistic style statement, which is unique and personal at the same time!!

Talking about fashion choices, a lot of people comment that MIDI dresses only suit tall girls. Well, I am not a tall girl, neither a short one- I am the in-between kinds. Average height-ed. And I personally feel it is totally unfair to reserve MIDI dresses only for tall girls, when they look just fine on my stature! Just to prove the point, I decided to show you how MIDIS can work for girls my height!( BTW I am around 5’3”)

Speaking about the star of this post, the MIDI dress featured here is a gorgeous tangerine number from DORTHY PERKINS, which I sourced from an online portal called JABONG. Pro tip:Pairing tangerine/orange with gold is a rock solid idea, hence the muted gold pumps from ZARA!

Come, have a look……

So do you agree with me on MIDIS suiting us(not so tall) girls just fine?! Let me know in the comments below!

Until next time, stay fabulous!!

Hello my lovely readers! Its been a while since I posted anything on my blog. Trust me, It was a forced hiatus due to various health issues BUT i missed writing to you all! And here I am, with a brand new, sparkling post to take on any mid-week fashion troubles!

So basically, as the title says, a jumpsuit is always, ALWAYS  a good idea. I know,I cannot stop showering praises on this stunning piece of clothing, but no words can ever do justice to its versatility! Since its Autumn/Fall, layering becomes the go-to mantra of fall fashion and this post tell you how to do its stylishly!

Jumpsuit is a fuss free hero! Whenever I am in doubt, I opt for a jumpsuit. Largely supplanted by its comfort value, It makes for a chic style statement. For this particular look, I decided to introduce a bold coloured contrast jacket to compliment my sage printed jumpsuit which I got from FOREVER 21. Deep burgundy lips add just the right amount of oomph to this look!

….and without further ado, scroll down to see how the look turned out to be!

Hope you all enjoyed the look. Let me know in the comments below!!

love & light

xx, Navi!
